Planica and Kranjska Gora

Kranjska Gora is a ski and cosmopolitan centre in north-western Slovenia, on the Sava Dolinka River in the Upper Carniola region, close to the Austrian and Italian borders. Kranjska Gora is best known as a winter sports town, being situated in the Julian Alps. It annually hosts an event in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup series, also known as the Vitranc Cup, for the slalom and giant slalom events. The well-known ski jumping hill Planica is located in the nearby Planica Valley. 

The Nordic Centre Planica is an exceptional environment for continuing the Slovenian tradition of sky jumping and flying, as well as for cross-country training and competing. If you are fearless you can try yourself with Zipline over the jumping hill which is 566 metres long and top speed reaches 85 km/h (additional payment).

Emerald green Zelenci natural reserve: “There is nothing more beautiful in Europe than this,” wrote Sir Humphry Davy about the beauties of the Sava Valley with its waterfalls and lakes. This natural reserve is home to various interesting flora, among it carnivorous sundew, and among animals, amphibians and nesting birds are represented in large numbers. 

Kranjska Gora and Lake Jasna: you will be given free time to explore Kranjska Gora town and Lake Jasna, where you can admire reflections of mountains in the crystal clear lake water. Jasna Lake consists of two interconnected artificial lakes at the confluence of the Velika Pišnica and Mala Pišnica streams.

At 2:00 p.m. traditional Slovene lunch at Lectar Restaurant in Radovljica - medieval old town, which is 34 km away from Kranjska Gora. The authentic atmosphere in the restaurant is complemented by its imaginatively dressed staff. We will also visit the live gingerbread museum and workshop in the cellar, where gingerbread hearts and other products are still made from gingerbread in keeping with a time honoured tradition.

We will return to your hotel in Ljubljana at approximately 5:00 p.m.
