Lake Bled

departure at 10:00 a.m.

With immense natural beauty, Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. The beauty of the mountains reflected on the lake, the sun, the serenity and the fresh air arouse pleasant feelings in visitors throughout the year, guaranteeing an ideal base or a relaxing break or an active holiday.

Vintgar gorge: The 1.6 km long Vintgar gorge carves its way through the vertical rocks of the Hom and Boršt hills and is graced by the Radovna with its waterfalls, pools and rapids. The educational trail leads you over wooden bridges and Žumr’s galleries, and ends with a bridge overlooking the mighty 13 m high Šum waterfall. To one interpretation, the name Vintgar originates from German Weingarten (the vineyards in the nearby Podhom), whilst the other interpretation says that the gorge section reminds on the wine glass.

Bled Lake: Lake Bled is undoubtedly one of the most visited nature attraction in Slovenia. This beautiful lake is located 475 m above sea level in the Julian Alps in the north-western part of Slovenia. We are offering you two options:

First Option: Short walk along the shore of Lake Bled, admire the views, and watch the majestic swans and playful ducks swimming on the lake, relax and take a break in one of the coffee shops - where you need to try kremšnita, the traditional Bled custard cream cake.

Second Option: Visit the Bled castle perched on a sheer cliff high above Lake Bled. Bled castle is more than a thousand years old, and one of the most spectacular castles in Slovenia.

After Lake Bled we will continue our journey to Radovljica, a charming old town with perfectly preserved architecture in Slovenia with houses dating from 15th and 16th century. We will explore medieval old town, Linhart Square, which is the heart and soul of the town of Radovljica. We will visit Museum of Apiculture which is unique in Slovenia and Europe in terms of its contents and coverage. It boasts the largest exhibited collection of painted beehive panels, which are a curiosity from the world of Slovene folk art.

At 2:00 p.m. traditional Slovene lunch at Lectar Restaurant. The authentic atmosphere in the restaurant is complemented by its imaginatively dressed staff. We will also visit the live gingerbread museum and workshop in the cellar, where gingerbread hearts and other products are still made from gingerbread in keeping with a time honoured tradition.
